bonecollector Report post Posted May 12, 2013 Headed uo to Greer in early June and am looking for a good lake to get the kids some action hopefully. Its been a long time since I have been to Greer and last time I was ther I had a lot of luck on the little col. but looking for a place to get the kids and wife some good fishing action. I usually fish Big Bear Lake with good luck but if I dont need to drive there it would be better. Thanks.

stanley Report post Posted May 12, 2013 Big Lake for sure! Also, if you're staying in Greer be sure to stop at that little store on the right before you get to the first bridge (I think it's a motel too.....). They might be able to tell you if they're biting on anything at the Greer Lakes..... Good luck! S.

idgaf Report post Posted May 15, 2013 There use to be some beaver ponds on the north east side of the highway right before you entered town that were absolutely loaded with fish. Its the perfect place to take your kids for non stop action, if they are still around its been many years since I have been there. Good Luck
Heat Report post Posted May 15, 2013 Fished the Greer area a few times last summer. Fished Big Lake all day and Greer lakes a few hours and caught 2 trout at Big Lake. Tried Sheep's Crossing to change things up during my antelope hunt and caught my limit in minutes. My take on the fishing up there is it takes considerable more skill and luck to catch them in the lakes, especially at Big Lake, but the quality at Big Lake is much better. If you can drift a nightcrawler downstream at Sheep's Crossing or probably any of the creeks, you will catch fish! Nick
My Rights As An American Report post Posted May 15, 2013 That little place in Greer that sells tackle always tells me that anything green is working right now. When you look at the wall of tackle they sell, everything they sell is green. Hmmm............
