Wondering if there are any decent shed hunting spots nearby...would like to take the kids out for a couple of hikes and would love for them to have a chance of finding their first sheds. biglakejake Report post Posted May 11, 2013 there might be some bull in the area...the 452 hewitt bull was killed on the the north shore of the lake. a 419 bull was taken in 2006 just north of the dam...a 400 bull was killed on the hiway about 2 miles northeast of the campground in 2011... i found a 7x8 deadhead within 200 yds of the dam on christmas eve 2007....i was down below the dam in the riparian area yesterday and it looked like jurassic park for elk. theres an eroded clay bank there about 100yds long and 100ft high sloping real steep down to the creek the elk are using like an otter slide...wish i could get video of that action...... prolly best to go over to greens peak or 27 thats where the elk are.... lee Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
