Jimmer Negamanee Report post Posted April 27, 2013 Wild video! Thanks for posting. I thought the logic of the authorities was interesting. Basically, they didnt want to tranquilize her because she might be pregnant and they, therefore, had concerns about her health and the health of her calf if they doped her up for thirty minutes to remove the tire. BUT, they have no problem leaving a tire on her neck indefinitely (they left a feeder hoop on one elk for 6 years) while the tire makes her more susceptible to predation (I could prolly run down an elk if it was weighed down with a tire), rubs her raw and causes a wound that won't heal because it keeps opening up every time she trots and makes her more prone to infection. Doesnt make a lot of sense to me. But I should tread lightly because Im not out there on the front lines of wildlife management, where the rubber meets the road, as they say.
