Ok as promised my son Xavier wanted me to post his story of the mighty 4 pounder he is constantly ribbin his older brother about along with many other fruits of his labor from the get go my little son has taken to fishing naturally and his always crushed if he can not go with me .He is always watching fishing videos when ever he gets the chance and it does not matter what kind of fishing as long as the fins come out of the water he all about it ;) So I believe it was last march and the spawn was in full swing a friend of mine had been asking to go to Rosie and when my kid caught wind of it he was already putting his rod and tackle in the boat .It was hot I remeber that much and lots of sun but the water was really clear near the marina and thats when my kid got to get his first taste of sight fishing. As we were picthin towards the shore worms and craws I spotted some male bass defending a nest and warding off some bluegills and was able to show lil X how to spot and look for nests and key areas i had just bought him some sunglasses and put polerized lenses in them gringing cheap polerized lenses with a dremil and poping them in a kids pair he was soooo stoked that he could see through the glare in the water and it was not long till he found a nest this female was starting to sit on had perfect transition to deep water in case she had to get to safety and enough cover anyways he threw everything at it rubber worms, real night crawlers ,cranks ,spinners ,craws, drop shot ,senko, and the like .I told him lets move on son she has no intrest in our lures, but to him that was the biggest bass hes seen to date and this was his quest .Mike a buddy that was with us wanted to move on as he still had no fish and it was like number 2 for me but lil X said Dad there has to be something that will make that bass bite I gave it a though and said sometimes spawning bass will kill a lizard in a nano sec if it thinks its going to raid the nest and that was all he needed to fuel his quest he looked through every bag on the boat and found some Zoom lizards and hade me rig one texas rig we gave the area a break for like 30min and then started a stealth approach he flipped the lizard perfect text book in every way he nailed her hot spot of the nest and and she inhailed that lizard he had full view set the hook hard. I was cracking up and amazed at how well he exicuted the hook set he looked like a seasoned tournament pro the fight was on peeling some drag and drating to deep water the whole time my mouth was dropped then he turned to look at me for a half second and said Dad what are you doing get the net  Luckly Mike was on top of it he grabed the net and Lil X swung her into the net once she was boatside and caught he yelled out I got you!!!!! Had a huge round of high fives and then he was asking to wieght her wouldnt you know it I didnt have my scale so we went to the marina and an other fisher man was happy to ablige with a scale she was right at 4 pounds maybe a hair under but he was grinning from ear to ear there were lots of people around the bar/grill gave him around of applause and puffed him up pretty good!!!Then out of nowhere he said Dad can I mount him Grandpa got his 4 pounder mounted the week before so he was jazzed about the idea of his fish hanging with all out other mounts.I told him well if Mom gives you the green light ok So you can imagine how he sold it to Mom with the biggest and best fish story ever and Us being the softies that were are caved and Gave Terry a call from T&A Taxidermy .We borought it over and he already new exactly how he wanted it done on a log with 2 crawdads one in the mouth and one about to get eaten Terry was so gracious entertained Xavier every request only charged us for the fish and every thing else was compted and through in a plaque with his name and date At Roosevelt it was at great day and you should here him tell it .I cant do it enough justice LoL :P Also as per his request here is a compilation of his other catches including his first bronzback at age 4 and and other about a year ago yup blue gills are his speed and has perfected his technique, yellows, trout, catfish, carp and even at sea there no mach he says LOL

My absoluted Favorite picture of him is an all nighter we pulled at Cannyon Lake he tore up the yellows and gills that night had a full stringer and fell asleep with the cheetoos and rod in hand it does not get no better that that folks!!!!

The picture with the bag of Cheetos is priceless! Love the fact that he has a drive for the outdoors and does what he's allowed to do as a youngster. Another great youth being raised in the outdoors!
