Joe Kauffman Report post Posted September 12, 2006 I have a pair of Steiner NightHunter XP 12x56's that I've been using for a couple of years and absolutely love them. I've been trying to find a tripod adapter for them but can't seem to find anything but the standard Steiner adapter that has the threaded screw....and these don't have the threads in the front to take this type of adapter. Does anyone have any experience with other adapters that might work? I've tried the Nikon velcro P.O.S. and can't stand it.
Prohunt Report post Posted September 12, 2006 Joe, I know that the Outdoorsmans in the Valley make a machined aluminum "clamp" that is a universal fit for most binos. Also, you may want to e-mail Amanda about this since she carrys Jim Whites stuff. He makes adapters for most types of binos and his products are awesome and carry a lifetime warranty. I hope this helps. Travis/Prohunt

COUESAZ Report post Posted September 13, 2006 Hey Joe good to see you over here. I made my own adapter for some binos that did not have threads for my bino adapter that i had for my others. It is a flat sheet of acrylic that is shaped just right for my eyes on the eye peice with slots cut in it and velcro straps that run over the barel ends to hold them in place. Joe Kauffman Report post Posted September 13, 2006 Hey Jade, I'd like to see what that looks like. Do you have any pics that you could post?
Prohunt Report post Posted September 14, 2006 Joe, Your welcome. If Amanda or Jim White don't have an adapter then your best bet is probably the "Webster" type like Jade is talking about. I have some friends at work that have 15 x 60 Doctors that use homemade "Websters" and really like them. Good Luck! Travis/Prohunt
Joe Kauffman Report post Posted September 14, 2006 Travis, Amanda pointed me to Outdoorsmans for the Bino Claw...I'll be swinging by there in the next couple of days to check it out. From the looks of it on the website it might work out if its' able to hold them steady enough. Thanks for all the suggestions.
