mulie hunter Report post Posted April 23, 2013 Just got back from the range shooting my 300 win mag. Getting ready for my antelope hunt in Sept. Shot good groups at 100 yards but The trigger pull felt heavy. It is a Winchester model 70 black shadow edition. I need to know of a gunsmith in the Chandler/Mesa area who could adjust the trigger for me. I live in Casa grande not sure of any in CG.

sjvcon Report post Posted April 24, 2013 One word ... TIMNEY. You may not want to spend that kind of money right now though, and adjustment is possible.
rcdinaz Report post Posted April 24, 2013 Yes! An aftermarket trigger is easily worth it and will add to the value of the gun.
AxisWorks LLC Report post Posted April 24, 2013 +1 For both the gun doctor and Timney.
mulie hunter Report post Posted April 25, 2013 Well went to the gun doctor today. Very little adjustment on trigger. So He's gonna put a Timney trigger on it. Great guy! So once again great advice on Coueswhitetail! Thanks to all!
sjvcon Report post Posted April 25, 2013 Once you go Timney, you'll never go back. Brought a trigger in to them on a gun I inherited. Trigger was probably 30 years old and was broken. Had "Timney" on the side. Girl took one look, asked me what gun, walked back to the warehouse and emerged with a brand new one ... NO CHARGE. I said to her "I didn't buy it." She said it didn't matter ... it's theirs and they stand behind their product. I've bought about 6 since.
AxisWorks LLC Report post Posted April 25, 2013 Once you go Timney, you'll never go back. Until you go Jewell. I recommend Timney on a hunting rifle but much prefer Jewell on bench rest rifles.

mulie hunter Report post Posted April 30, 2013 Picked up my gun from the Gun Doctor today. New timney trigger and he jewelled the bolt. Headed right to the range. WHAT A DIFFERENCE THE TIMNEY TRIGGER MADE! First two shots 150 grain bullets Last 4 shots 180 grain. At 100 yards.
1denogean Report post Posted April 30, 2013 how much did he charge to jewel the bolt?
