That's why I wrote in my vote during his last bid, and will do so again if somehow he makes it through the Primary. Gun Control: He voted in favor of the EXPANDED BACKGROUND CHECK BILL. Now I am not opposed to good background checks. Doesn't really bother me at all. What I don't like is what the Libs are trying to do with it ... this was their stepping stone to a National Gun Registry, which I don't support. What I have is none of the Government's business. It is for my use in the protection of my family ... from all threats, both foreign and domestic. Illegal Immigration: This DOPE is a member of the "Gang of Eight" that is coming up with an 800 plus page bill that basically provides Amnesty. I was listening to Jim Sharpe this AM and he had a guy on who represents ICE. Apparently, there is a group in ICE that has been trying to get the "Demander and Thief" and members of this "Gang of Eight" to listen to them with regard to Illegal Immigration. These are the guys who deal day in and day out with illegal immigration issues. No one will give them an audience. He specifically said that requests for a meeting with Flake and McLame were "ignored". Marco Rubio was the only one who would meet with them, and it was stated that Rubio "dismissed" their suggestions for things that would "really work". It was also stated that PRO-ILLEGAL groups have been allowed to infiltrate and influence ICE policy, such that their hands are tied ... they face termination of employment if they enforce laws that are on the books. At least that is what this guy claimed. I've said it before and I'll say it again ... our country has been HIJACKED. WE THE PEOPLE are being bullied and subjugated by 535 Congressmen and Senators, a Supreme Court full of idiots(that is becoming increasing Liberal thanks to the PREZ), and an Executive Branch that should be impeached for NUMEROUS TRANSGRESSIONS, not the least of which is refusing to enforce laws that are paramount for NATIONAL SECURITY. If anyone disrespected me in my personal life the way these folks are disrespecting the people in this country, it would land them on the floor clutching a bloody nose. I'll get off my soap box now. rossislider Report post Posted April 18, 2013 I agree with everything you said. But sadly, voting out someone like McCain isn't going to happen. The average voter just isn't informed or smart enough. This last election was our best shot in a long time with Heyworth, but the election wasn't even close. Heyworth was buried under a mountain of negative campaigning, (a lot of which was probably financed by liberals). Sadly, I think our only option is to wait the old dinosaur out. He clearly ignores what his constituents want and and votes for his own interests. He should be retiring the next go around, if he doesn't we can help him with that decision. These liberal dem's think that they are entitled to pass any law that they want, and then they cry foul about it when it is opposed. I think McCain is going senile. The guy is so far out in left field, that IMO, he has beome a traitor to the GOP, RNC,.and the people who voted for him. I was reading an article this morning how the left said that this bill was defeated by Senators listening to the anti gun control lobby, and that they went against the will of the people? Really? What will, and what people are they referring to? Why dont they just say that they voted against the will of "The left". Because every Republican, conservative gun owner that I know , and have come across on all the blogs "DO NOT WANT ANY FORM OF GUN CONTROL" I really want these loony lefties to explain what "WIll of the People" they are referring to. It will be a cold day in Hades before I submit to their will Our constitution is like a sidewalk made out of bricks. The average guy on the street doesn't want gun control ... not if it's in the form they want it in. Said it before ... Chairman Mao, Stalin and Hitler all disarmed the populace before subjugating, raping (both figuratively and literally) and murdering them. That cannot be the path we take. DesertBull Report post Posted April 18, 2013 In my opinion, one of the reasons they are so bent on gaining control of the guns is that the economy is about to take a HUGE dump. The bank bailouts were just a band-aid to a much larger overall problem.There is not enough money in the world to pay off our debt + entitlement obligations+ gov't guaranteed pensions. It does not exist. You can tax 100% of the entire country, it won't pay the bills. There will be a day of reckoning regarding this.
