Snapshot Report post Posted April 16, 2013 The war of independence, and the civil war were fought with conventional wepaons. Swords, guns, canons, and horses. everyone was on level playing field. If things get much worse, I am all for a revolution against our government. Unfortunately,in todays world, with the weapons our military has, it would be a wholesale slaughter. But it is still better to go down swinging as a wolve, than led to slaughter as a sheep. IMO .....The gun confiscations will come at some point in time. Too many Politicians seem to be walking on the left side of the path. The opposition to those who would take our guns is growing weaker. As far as the current expanded background checks, it will be more of a hassle to sell a gun privately, plus the added cost of a background check at an FFL. All of which will not do one bit of good for which the bill is intended. But what do I know?
gauchoand Report post Posted April 16, 2013 In all honesty I truly feel for what happened in Boston today. Whoever committed that act today will burn in ----- and I wouldnt urinate on him to put out the fire. BUT, I realized that it seems they should ban homemade bombs to prevent this from happening again! Maybe limit the amount of explosives put in it so it's not so dangerous. Sorry if what I say is offensive to anyone but I will be praying for those people tonight with my children. I just feel the government couldnt care less for the people who grant them their authority. Maybe this thread should be in political discussions......

bonecollector Report post Posted April 16, 2013 Just received this email: is Flake flip flopping? Dear Arizona NRA Member: Your Senator, Jeff Flake, is getting pressure from anti-gun zealots for his opposition to the Schumer-Manchin-Toomey so-called “compromise” amendment. The Schumer-Manchin-Toomey amendment contains a variety of gun control measures that would restrict your Second Amendment freedoms. This amendment would make it illegal for honest citizens to sell firearms within their local communities if they use social media, local community emails lists, or community newspapers to advertise the sale - unless they get advance permission from the federal government. Please call Senator Flake today and thank him for standing strong for the Second Amendment. Let him know you are a NRA member and you support his decision to oppose the Schumer-Manchin-Toomey amendment, as well as any other anti-gun proposal. Please encourage Senator Flake to support the Grassley-Graham amendment that is aimed at addressing the real problems of reducing violent crime, increasing prosecutions, and keeping our kids safe in their schools. The future of our Second Amendment rights are at stake and the actions you take today will have a direct impact.

Snapshot Report post Posted April 17, 2013 Obama spoke out and said it was a "Shameful day" in Washington for not passing the bill. IMO - The shameful day in Washington started when Obama took office. The Democrats will keep hammering away at this issue, and the Republicans they need to help support it, will eventually get bribed off or cave in.
