6B December base camp suggestions

I am new to 6B. Will be hunting Dec 5-16. Any areas you may suggest for a base camp?

Depends on the weather and how much gear you are bringing. The roads can get quite messy if it gets wet or snows.

The woody mountain road is maintained and will get you into the heart of elk country. Finding them after 655 other elk hunts plus deer hunts will be another matter

Finding them is my job. I do, however, need to be in a fairly comfortable / accessible base camp. Thus, any suggestions or sharing experiences are appreciated.

231 and 538 junction is a great spot.

Weather will be your key. Stay close to FS231 (Woody Mtn road) the spot Adicted pointed out is good, you can check out the cinder pit rd in section 25. For the absolute safest spot the city wells near the arboretium but that will give you a lot of drive time when you go out to hunt.

it all depends on where you are going to be hunting, any of the spots above are good ones.

if i was you i would take a few trips up there to get a feel and see what areas you like.
