mklong40 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 Made a run to Angostura this weekend and the fishing was insane. Outside of the water being low, everything else was awesome. Boated over 250 fish in 2 days of fishing with 2 partners. Brought back 150lbs of fillets. Big fish was just shy of 8lbs. and we had several other good ones. The stringer below was taken at 9am in the morning, about 3 hours of fishing. We had a 20' stringer each day. Just an awesome trip with good people.
Elkaddict Report post Posted April 8, 2013 Haven't been to Angostura in 30 years! Love the lake, the road used to be pretty bad at least to the river end. How is it now?

CouesWhitetail Report post Posted April 8, 2013 WOW!! that's a haul!!!! any trouble bringing fillets back across the border? do you leave some skin to prove species or anything like that?
mklong40 Report post Posted April 8, 2013 Road going in is still hairy to say the least. I'd have to think its better than normal due to power companies somewhat maintaining them now that there are lines back there but still a rough road. No problems at all crossing the border with the fish. We declared them when were stopped. They popped one ice chest of 6, looked in, and waived us through. Very smooth getting in and out as long as you have all your paper work.
