need arrows

Recommended Posts

Hello guys and gals. I have a question about arrows. I have been shooting the gold tip 5575 for years out of my pse thunderbolt. I have since picked up a pse xforce. I have shot the 5575 gold tips out of the xforce but the accuracy is not very good. After researching, im starting to believe the 5575 gold tips are not spined strong enough for the xforce. I really like the gold tip brand and the affordability of the arrows. Should i just bump up to the 7595 gold tips ? The reason im asking is cause my friend who shoots gold tips said he hated the move from 5575 to 7595. Im looking for a reasonably priced arrow that is gonna serve me and the xforce well. Any ideas?? And thanks for your time in advance.

I had the same problems with the 5575's! They shot great with the field points, but i couldn't group my broadheads to save my life. I switched to the velocity xt hunters (300 spine) and love them. They are a tad lighter then the 7595, and you can pick them up on amazon for $64 a dozen.

We need the poundage and draw length of your bow. A lot of people think because the arrow says 55-75 and that is a gold tip arrow, that you can shoot up to 75 pounds of draw with that arrow. Not true. The 55-75 arrow is a 400 spine. Usually good up to 60 pounds. The 75-95 is a 340 spine and is good up to 65-70 lbs depending on draw length. Give me your draw weight, arrow length, draw length and point weight, and I will give you the best arrow for your setup.

I had the exact same problem when I switched to my XForce, bumped from the 55/75 to the 75/95 and my problems were cured. Pass thrus stuck into the ground from then on. GoldTips are the best.

To avoid buying a new set of arrows you could try a lighter point wt. or shorten your arrow length (if possible).

you can always tune an over spined arrow. They will also be heavier and carry KE and momentum better. I vote go stiffer.

So I want to know how the 7595 worked for you? I'm also shooting a PSE xforce at 72lbs 29 inch arrows and am looking to go to a heavier arrow. Would like to know what you thought of them.

Just ran both of your numbers through ontarget2, and you both need a 300 spined arrow. 75/95 are 340 spined and way to weak.

never got the chance to shoot the 7595's. But my buddy did lend me a couple velocity xt 300 spine and they shot really good. The velocity arrows grouped better than the 5575's. I wanna get out to the range and shoot them some more before i buy a dozen but this darn wind hasnt let up.
