That guy is an idiot for 4 wheel drive launching that truck on pavement with those size tires and lift. I have yet to see them snap under normal 4x4 use.

I didnt know it snapped a CV joint or anything i just thought it was saying IFS was better then a dana 60, thats why i took the picture. Country Thunder is always fun, their are always a lot of BA Diesel Trucks (Dmax's & Cummins) there along with powerjokes ;)

The tie rods are the weak link on the GM trucks. On the duramax if you spool your turbo and launch in 4x4 you will snap the tierods clean off. (I know, I've seen me do it.) I knew it could happen and really just needed a reason to upgrade mine. However I'd rater spend the $300 and have the softer ride the IFS offers vs a straight axle. That's my opinion. My Dmax runs mid 12's launching in 4x4 at about 28 psi. I have yet to snap the fabtech tierods. I do however drop the torsion bars all the way down before doing this. :)

Totally agree Speedy, I drove my dads 07 LBZ for six months while I was tieing up my 24v conversion on my OBS, and I was always thinking that my 24v would be so much nicer to drive with a street cam injectors, fully billit E4OD, fully balanced rotating assembly, but it was still a major step down from my Dads Dmax their reliable and fast, the Allison is rediciously smooth shifting. Our trucks would hang together in the low end, but once he got her spooled it was over lol. You should bring your Dmax to one of the East Valley Diesel Meets after Country Thunder and Bear season their usually at the Tilted Kilt on Baseline I think.

I will have to come check it out. Keep me posted on the events. I'm pretty much done playing with this one for the time being. Ive been driving it like an old man for about a year now. I need it to be dependable for pulling my trailer for now. I plan on buying a new one in the near future then this one will become a full time toy.

Went last year. Wasn't impressed for what it cost me.

Wife thinks shes going, don't know where shes getting the money as it ain't from me and shes not working yet.

Just remember what she won't give you, when you want it!
