devo Report post Posted September 5, 2006 Was lucky this year and got drawn for the Dec hunt. I got my first Coues a few years ago in 33 in Dec, how do conditions look this year? Also my son drew the junior hunt in 36A, have never hunted there any suggestions?
mulie hunter Report post Posted September 6, 2006 36a is a great unit for deer, mulie or whitetail. My 2 kids and their 2 cousins have jr tags in 36a, they took 2 bucks out of there last year.
SunDevil Report post Posted September 6, 2006 was out in 33 the weekend before last. pretty much missed the morning glass. saw a few deer in the 20 minutes before they headed for cover. one group of 4 bachelors. afternoon glass started at 4:30. saw quite a few deer in the evening as well. saw 12 bucks in all that day. everything is really green. makes it pretty easy to see the deer. bullwidgeon Report post Posted September 6, 2006 I was in 33 on Monday afternoon. The area is really green, water is coming off the mountain in every canyon and some of the weeds and grasses are 4 foot tall. It was tough to see deer where we were looking, but we saw a few. The mountain is greener than it ever was last year. 36A is good too, we killed some bucks there last year. There are coues deer everywhere in that unit, even in lower habitats that you may not expect to find them in hanging out with carps. Bret M.
