PackerMenges Report post Posted March 23, 2013 Between watching my bank accounts and my brackets it has been a fun week. Slightly maddening but still fun. What has added to some of my personal "madness" is watching some of these forums turn into mud-slinging matches, it has disturbed me a little and I have refrained from saying anything for awhile but on a slow friday night what better thing do I have to do? I wont name names, but I think most of us know what this is about. We are all allowed to have our opinions and voice them when, where and how we want - as I am doing here. To disrespect an outfitter on their own profile is simply ridiculous and ignorant. To trash a person for being learning disabled is simply disgusting. To rip members for disagreeing with you is part of the deal, but doing it with zero class is simply trashy. You have done nothing but made a joke of yourself while providing a great lesson to the rest of us in what not to do on a social website. In this case, the best hunting website on the internet. May I ask what I said that was so disrespectful and classless? I stated my opinion then the numbers from AZGFD that I feel are unrealistic, even said we weren't going to agree and then here came the CWT police to the rescue AKA Rifleman (The tough guy) and ernesto. And when they started saying the random things making it sound like I was bashing the hunter that's when I usually like to throw smart remarks in to piss them off. Which it obviously did. I even got a nice PM from The Tough Guy trying to hurt my feelings by calling me a boy in big letters to put some emphasis on it. Who is classless? In this case, you have some balls getting on an outfitters thread and ripping them for something that is completely legal. Beyond that, arguing with quantitative data and empirical evidence compiled over the years through countless biological studies is pretty ignorant and does not help your case much. When you are in a hole, you first have to realize that you are in it, then you have to stop digging. You stoke the fire well with your opinions, and maybe that is your game that you find pleasure in, but it surely comes across as uncouth and completely lacking in substance. If you want to become a reliable and respected voice on this subject, continue your education, do your own studies and get published. You do that and I will gladly read and respect your findings, heck I bet a bunch of us will. Til then, be careful man cause this website is business for the outfitters and this world is small. I stated an opinion and I don't care which outfitter it is I would say the same thing that killing females is wrong. Whether you or they agree or not. I'm not here to make it seem like I am picking out some outfitter just to start a problem. I never once thought this was going to turn into what it is now. But as usual when someone states an opinion people disagree and it turns into an argument. I never once said anyone did anything illegal but simply that I MYSELF think killing females is wrong and that people shouldn't do it. Whether you agree or not that's fine. But when people start coming at me as if I posted that comment trying to start this fight I'm gonna say some things back. Believe all the quantitative and empirical evidence from the AZGFD that you want. Kinda like the evidence they had to raise bull tags in unit 1 by 100 this year. Let me know how many people agree with that one. As for me I'll go off of common sense and not believe that lions kill 156,000 deer a year in Arizona. Even if you somehow do believe it. I'm not gonna throw a little girly fit like Rifleman and go off on you because you believe it or think that all lions should die. That's your opinion. But apparently for people to be allowed to believe anything you say you must be published? I don't agree with that. . Without someone freaking out could someone please explain to me how it's possible that lion can kill 156,000 deer in a year and there still be deer in the state? An outfitter posted a picture of a client who killed an animal. He did not ask for your opinion about it. If you would like to discuss the topic of harvesting females then simply start a thread in the mt lion forum on the subject. There you can argue it all day long and nobody is going to call you uncouth. Your approach here is equivalent to referring to someone's first buck by calling it a dink and going on a tangent about point restrictions. You have a founded argument about the statistics you have posted here but its just not the time or place. In reference to your comment about saying things to piss people off, that is what we refer to as trolling, and its juvenile. These forums are here for us to discuss our passion for hunting, not for school yard pissing matches. I can agree with you that where I posted it may have not been the best place to start the conversation but I never once intended for it to turn into what it did. I never once went after the HUNTER saying he did anything wrong and never once did I suggest his lion was small or not a trophy or a dink or anything of the sort. The original comment was directed at the outfitter and only the outfitter. That was stated when I said it's sad OUTFITTERS are killing females. And if someone can't handle someone elses opinion that's not my problem and I'm not going to stop giving my opinion. Just like many of you give your opinions here on this site. As I said before I only start saying things to piss people off when they come acting tough and bad for no reason. I posted that in the outfitters forum because I want them to know as well as any other outfitter that killing a female lion is ridiculous in my opinion. Last I checked I didn't need permission to give my opinion and obviously my opinion was important enough to get all your panties in a bunch. And Packer, if your philosophy is to believe whatever google tells you, as you suggested I do, you better figure out a better way of getting facts. That's the last time I'll explain to you guys that I never went after the hunter nor intended to disrespect him or his lion. I was stating my opinion to the outfitter, in his forum, in a subject that fit with how I feel about killing females.
