SunDevil Report post Posted March 11, 2013 field scoring animals is a very challenging endeavor. for coues deer, what I have found in my years of field scoring and guess the score scoring is that I almost always overscore by +5 inches. for this reason I have come up with my own personal "minus 5" rule. very simply, whatever I estimate the rack to score I subtract 5 and that is the number i go with. THE RIFLEMAN Report post Posted March 12, 2013 I haven't decided yet but the first hunter to use a tape measure to "score" his "trophy" or determine the "quality" of his hunt either will be beheaded or drawn and quartered when I am king. Bill Quimby If nothin gets broke and no one gets hurt then I consider it a successful hunt! Regardless of animals harvested or not!
