Ive never had it but when ever i cook wild game for the first time i pan fry a small piece with salt and pepper. Just to get a taste for it so i can gauge what type of seasonings will go go with it.

I have had it as summer sausage and it was tastey! I once cooked up a lion roast with a lot of garlic cloves in it and I didn't like it very much, but that probably had more to do with me than the meat.

cook it like any meat, backstrap's floured, s&p and fried in butter or bacon grease are good, made green chile out of a roast, made up breakfast sausage with it and plain old burger. Only thing I didn't like was using lion in the Chicken and Apple sausage recipe, that sausage is much better with birds.

I made a roast in the slow cooker this year with some and it was great. Cooked it like any other roast recipe. I also made "pulled lion" sandwiches and my daughters loved them.

I wouldn't eat fox personally, but lion and bobcat are delicious.
