I was thinking $500 a piece too. I took two sidewalls out last year on lightly used tires. One was 3 days old and it was $180 tire. I would think about these tires, if they lasted several years. I wonder if the rubberized part is replaceable? Take Care, JLG.

I heard that these tires weigh in at 50 lbs each.l know some guys that race RAZRs that have seen them up close.

Sounds like the 8ply dirt tamers and 2gals of slime i got last fall are going to have to last a while.

It's a great idea, and I imagine for a while they will carry a premium price tag to recoup the R&D, but eventually they could be commonplace - even adapted for light trucks. I do hope they put a sidewall on them to keep 'em from filling up with mud.

That honeycomb rim pattern does seem like it could be a mud collector.

Sure looks that way. Although, if there's any flex in the wheel itself it could be kinda "self cleaning". Very interested to see how they do. I'm sure there'll be some bugs with such a radical new design.

I was thinking the same thing....about covering the sidewall. My concern would be good size sticks getting into the honeycomb and flipping up and wacking me in the head, or rocks flinging everywhere. Nobody would want to ride behind you.

An acquaintance of mine said he has been running steel belted radials, made for ATV's. Said he ordered them from a company in Georgia. Got real good performance out of them. I'm thinking they would be a lot harder to plug in the field than regular ATV tires.
