Viper Report post Posted March 6, 2013 God bless all these people that make miracles possible! Thank your sister-in-law for me. My sister recieved a cochlear implant several years ago. From birth she was completely deaf in one ear and 90% loss in the other. For the first time in her life she was able to hear birds sing, hear her shoes squeek on the floor, enjoy music, etc... (the things we take for granted). She was so inspired that she quit her job with a large insurance company and hired on with Dallas Hearing Foundation. She became their Patient Advocate, offering counseling/support to new patients. After several years with DHF, she moved back to our home town in IN where she joined a similar operation. It is her lifes work.
