BobCat Problem/Help Wanted

Recommended Posts

Guest oneshot

A local lady contacted me this morning because she knows I hunt and it seems her and her neighbours have a few, 2 maybe 3, BobCats killing off their chickens, ducks, rabbits, etc. There are houses around so they dont want to try shooting them, but they are at their wits end and want the cats gone... Any trappers want to get these critters??? Any tips I can give her so they are'nt just feeding the Cats???... Sahuarita, AZ area, Mission Road... Thank You...

I wish I was in your area, I'd happily come take care of them for you!

Do you have a bow? That would take care of your not being able to shoot around houses problem.

You also might consider picking up a live trap (if in season, I have no idea). You could pick one up at Home Depot for about $50. (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Havahart-Large-Collapsible-Easy-Set-Animal-Trap-1092/100645029#.UTdpyVeGNA4). A bobcat pelt would easily offset the cost and then some.

trapping season is over, but bobcat season is not. you need to find someone with a "wildlife services" license. i have one but you are to far away. call the G&F and see if there is anyone in your area with one of these licenses and they CAN come and trap them for you. most will charge a small fee to come do it.

There is a list on the game and fish website of guys that can do it for you as a nuisance trapper. I know you can google wildlife control in the Tucson area and there is a company that will come out and trap them for you. Can't wait to be on that list.

I don't know anything about the rules of trapping but I would think you would be able to trap your own property out of season if it was to protect your livestock.
