Congress/Senate

Recommended Posts

I realize this will conjur up many answers but I legitimately am curious.

I have googled but gotten so many answers I am not sure what is legit or just people making fun of senate and congress.

Where can I find out what the requirements are to be a congressman or senator and how much do they make?

SENATE - a citizen for at least 9 years. 30 years old, an inhabitant of the state he/she represents.

HOUSE - a citizen for at least 7 years. 25 years old, a resident of the state he/she represents.

I don't how much they make but they make a lot more under the table than they do in official salary.

The rank and file members of the House/Senate make $174,000 per year approx

Majority Party Leader - $193,400
Minority Party Leader - $193,400

House Leadership
Speaker of the House - $223,500
Majority Leader - $193,400
Minority Leader - $193,400

Of course this does not take into consideration the amount of bribes and backscratching

They are all a bunch of overpaid nimrods....but then I am biased.

Think about it. They spend 20 million to get a job that pays 200K. Their net worth increases every year. A lot of insider trading and favors going on.
