CEI Report post Posted February 15, 2013 Western U.S. 60 Day Percentage of Average Precipitation Map Western State Big Game Application periods will continue to open and close for the next several months. If you are looking for the most out of your draw tags, you MUST consider the amount of precipitation each state is getting (and specific units). Many of the best units and hunts will take DECADES to draw, so make sure you are making the most of it. Make sure you research the data and FACTS! It's not an exact science, but it can dang sure help you avoid obvious disappointments. Below are some maps illustrating the past 30 days of precipitation: After a rough start, Arizona is shaping up to be off the charts! Colorado is very wet in the S.W. corner. NV has some isolated units getting pounded. New Mexico is dry except for the Navajo Nation & a few units. Utah is about 50/50! Some units are 100-800% above normal! Wyoming's corners are dry, but has received quality precipitation in some central and northern areas.
