WTB bowfishing gear

Recommended Posts

Looking for two whole set ups or even parts to get us started. I'm willing to consider any old bow without cams. Maybe someone has an old wheel style bow in the garage they want to get rid of? 27-28 inch draw, or obviously adjustable will work.

I'm looking at an AMS style reel, not the button push styles.

I'll probably buy new arrows and heads.

Thank you!

I'm no expert but from what I've heard the bows take a ton of abuse and the cams just can't handle all the dirt, sand and being dropped on the ground and the boat etc.

Hopefully some of the seasoned veterans around here will chime in and prove me wright or wrong.

I've been bowfishing for 10+ years now and all I will shoot is bows with cams. I have 2 bows set up specifically for it. 1st is a PSE omen and the second is a PSE Baracuda with no let off. Lots of my buddy's use a PSE bow madness. Just shoot a bow that's comfortable and you can shoot all day! That's the biggest thing to me!

Last year I use my bow madness XS. my only regret was that it is my hunting bow and after I was done bow fishing it needed to be re tuned

Bows with cams are fine I shoot em and have never had a problem but since I have gone to shooting fingers I love the oneidas unless you have a bow thats over 37in ATA...... ut I have never ruined one of my cam bows in over 15 years of shooting fish

Thanks for the tips. I guess I'm open to bows with cams as well then.

If you've got one in good shape you want to get rid of for under $100 let me know. Again 27 or 28 inch draw will work.

Check craigslist Blake. Often times I see cheap bows on there. Any old PSE will do. Doesnt have to be super fast or fancy. You'd be hard pressed to get a set-up for under $100. The reels arent cheap.

I've been checking and there's a lot of bows out there. I'm looking for just a bare bow under $100. The rest I can pick up in a package kit for another $100-$150 or so.

Thanks for the tip.

Got an older right handed browning I'd sell for 100$ with newer string and cables. It's a wheel style old cam bow. 50 to 70lb limbs and I think adjustable from 25 to 28 inch draw. Let me know
