HD Trophy Hunts Report post Posted February 15, 2013 Brian Peterson of Kodiak Alaska came down to hunt with us after the SCI show. Brian had put in over 3 weeks lion hunting in Arizona, Nevada and Wyoming but had yet to harvest a cat. We hunted HARD for 4 days. The first day we trailed this tom a long way but we did not get him caught. The second day we must have went the wrong direction, we rode all day, found some sign but never got on anything. The third day we got on a lion again (we think the same one) and he was able to get away from the dogs in the ledges after going over the mountain. Luckily for Brian and us this tom came back to the same country on the fourth day and we hit him and a female fresh. The young dogs split and we immediately were concerned we may have a trash race. I went to the young dogs first and they had the tom caught, the video will tell the rest of the story! This lion jumped 8 times. He did not want to stay in a tree. Another successful hunt for HD Trophy Hunts and Team Paws and Jaws! Thanks for looking!
