Coues24A Report post Posted February 13, 2013 Here are some pics of the rifle I'm going to use on my Javelina hunt this year. It was given to me by the man who introduced to hunting, my Grandfather. He gave it to me over my three uncles and one older grandson. I guess he knew early on that I would be the only one that loves to hunt. I dated the serial number to 1912. The front sight had been filed down, I'm assuming for more range. I replaced the front sight and put a Marble's peep sight on the rear. Every time I shoot a deer or javelina he asks me "Did you use my rifle?", I reluctantly answer "No". He is 89 years old and I hope to finally shoot something with his rifle. Maybe I can use it for Cooz someday.

Coues24A Report post Posted February 14, 2013 It's chambered in 30 WCF. I wanted to use leverlution ammo but can't find any. Bought the last two boxes of the cheap Winchester stuff. Hopefully I can post some pics from a successful hunt.
Mocha1545 Report post Posted February 17, 2013 This is what I am going to use. It too was my grandfather's. Not quite long range but should be fun. It's a Winchester 07 in .351 caliber.
