kooter Report post Posted February 10, 2013 I've been wanting a 6.5-284 for a couple of years now, so I ordered a Schneider 6.5 barrel a couple months ago and picked up a Remington action to build it on. My brother and I have spent alot of hrs doing most of the work. He did all of the machine work and I did most of the stock work. The barrel channel was a little small for the barrel I have. I wanted a light weight rifle so I did a #2 contour, MPI. thumbhole stock topped with a zeiss 6.5x20x50. Steve Crooks a gunsmith friend of ours did the black oxide finish on the action and barrel and the engraving. I can't wait to go shoot it. It's almost done. AxisWorks LLC Report post Posted February 10, 2013 I believe that is blue painters tape and the picture is probably while he was bedding it. Great work I did the same with my Remington 700 .257 Wby in an HS Precision stock. What did it end up weighing?
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Nah, I think the blue tape is to simulate water, what else could it really be for??? ;-)~
kooter Report post Posted February 10, 2013 The tape is so the paint doesn't get scratched haha. With the scope it is right at 7.5 pounds

southernxpress Report post Posted February 12, 2013 Hopefully it shoots as well as the .338 Edge I just finished... or the 6.5 Creedmoor and this isn't even the smallest group.. just happened to be the picture I had handy .. Oh and you may as well tape up the rest of the barrel and that pretty Zeiss scope... you don't want those to get scratched either!
