Hanksaiditbest Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Appreciate the replys guys... The truck was for my younger brother and we locked one up this morning. Good luck on selling your son's truck pine, I'm sure it will go fast at the right price with that low mileage. If I had the money I'd buy it... some time soon i want to start a project truck as my newer daily driver tacoma is taking a beating. Best trucks on the planet. loco4coues Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Just an FYI if anyone finds a good deal on one of those "POS" pre runners guys at tacomaworld.com are converting them to 4x4s for around $1800.
Anderson_HOTD Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Loco, pre-runners aren't POS if you don't need 4x4. The newer "ugly" ones are actually a little taller then the 4x4s to help compensate for the 2wd. TBH, TIRES make a big difference. In my 95 Tacoma that was lifted and had wide tires on it, it had more street tires when we got it and they were pretty much brand new so we didn't see a point in getting new huntin tires. My dad and I were rigging and having some fun when we came to a pretty big water/mud pit. I was being a SA and told him he could go through first so when he got stuck I could push him from behind... Needless to say with both of us in 4wd, him with mud tires and a dog box with more dogs and the box itself weighing 3 times what mine did, he went through like a champ... I however got stuck and was laughed at while trying to get mine out lol. Snow is evil no matter what your driving. That's why in the winter my dogs turn into fat little piggies lol. Where exactly did you find this? I am not a tacomaworld.com member so having a hard time navigating. I may look into this since I am also having a heck of a time finding a 4x4. CWpredator Report post Posted February 28, 2013 My favorite trucks for sure. The 4cylinder 2.4s are definitely indestructible. I won't drive anything off road besides a Toyota. Good luck in your search. I've been lookin for a late 90s Tacoma 4 door right now. Picture of my Toyota I built up.
