Jimmer Negamanee Report post Posted February 4, 2013 Immortalized is a new T.V. series which, according to the AMC website, “brings viewers into the captivating and provocative world of creative and competitive taxidermy. Each episode will feature one of four highly regarded "Immortalizers" facing off against a "Challenger" in a competition. Their task is to create a piece to be judged on three criteria: originality, craftsmanship and interpretation of the designated theme. Whether the artists are known for their classic or rogue creations, each week they will work to perfect this centuries-old art form in an unprecedented battle. "No Guts, All Glory." Premieres Thu., Feb. 14 at 10/9c, only on AMC.” Here’s a link to a preview of the first episode (link good as of 2-4-12, might need to scroll down a bit): http://zachselwyn.com/ Of course they do play up the tension and drama for ratings but it’s cool to see a bit of the taxidermy process and end results. BTW, this show has an Arizona connection because the host Zach Selwyn is originally from Tucson. He fronts the band Zachariah & the Lobos Riders who, according to Zach Selwyn’s website, “take honky-tonk jukebox songs, mix them with windswept early 70’s psyche-desert hip-hop lyricism and toss in freestyle rap verses.” (I have several Zachariah & the Lobos Riders CDs that provide “songs for the drive.” I like the Arizona/desert refences.) Here’s a link to their song Tucson Afternoon from the CD Ghost Signs (May I also recommend the CD Alcoholiday):
