Swift Scirocco II

Recommended Posts

Have any of you tried the swift Scirocco II bullets? If so, how did they do on the game you shot? I got a box of the .25 100 grain bullets and need to develop a load for my 25-06. Thoughts??

They shot very well in my .257 wby and the only reason I did not run with them is because I had a TTSX load that shot about the same group sizes. AND, the only reason I picked the TTSX over the SCII is because I had used them before and had nothing but luck. I still have the Scirocco's on my relading bench, and the touch higher BC they offer as well as a lot of reviews and tests I have been seeing lately has me thinking about switching!

I shot the 180's in my 300 ultra for a while with great results. Only reason I switched was for the harder hitting and higher bc'd 208's and 210's. Sciroccos seems to be a good mix of expansion and weight retention in my experience. Good bullet.

Kevin is right, they do trend to open more then a ttsx with keeping near 100% weight retention and deep penetration. Pretty good happy medium between the ttsx and accubonds.

I run the 150's out of my 7mm STW at 3450. Nothing but good luck for me.

Yotebuster, sounds like you've got a good load worked up for your STW. My 25-06 is pushing the 100 grain bullet just over 3200 with 51.5 Grains of IMR 4350. By the way, thanks again for the trade on the Zeiss scope, I've got it on the 25 and love it. Hope the Binoculars are working out like you hoped.

The binos are great, a little heavier then the vortexs they replaced but much nicer. I'm no sure how I'm pulling that kinda speed out of my STW with 150's but I've chrono'd it several different times and it sets right in there at 3450 with an ES of about 30fps. Really happy with it, it's killed about 50 deer, a few elk, a moose and a couple oryx with the scirrocos.
