Hunters, shooters and 2nd Amendment supporters need to send a message to our elected officials - be there and bring someone with you. Spread the message to your contacts and social media sites. I believe in our Constituion and our rights as Americans but it may do more harm than good !- what # makes a successful rally - i mean really - you'd expe\ct 100's of thousands to come and stand for what they believe , if you expect to make an impression - say only 5-10 thousand show - is that enough to impress anyone - if ya get less - do we look weak and people think no one really cares - what if less than 1000 show - Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

azphil Report post Posted January 17, 2013 I don't have all the answers. I got the rally info from Mike Broomhead who does the 4pm show on 550 KFYI so there will be publicity for the rally. You have to do what you feel is right and make a positive impression to the general public, who in the big picture influence their congress people and senators. I'm sure the media will try and exploit any bad behavior and portray us in a negative light - so keep it positive, know your facts if approached by the media and show some class if put in the spotlight. savagman Report post Posted January 17, 2013 Most of America already thinks Arizona is filled with wackos and gun nuts. Not sure how an AZ rally will help the national debate. No elected official in AZ with any hope of re-election will consider anti-gun legislation at this point. Support (financially if you can) NRA and national groups. I was in California that day and saw how they all stood together, pretty much shut down LA and they got their way. If we would only do like they do it would be back to ...We The People...in america. Imagine the media there - the story is twisted and the focus is on the sidearms in the crowd. Enter Giffords stage left and we have provided a photo opp for the left. Nothing we do will be portayed by the liberal media in any way that will help. Not saying do nothing. Just know thy enemy and don't play into their hand. I want to be out there with the "Don't Tread On Me" flag singing Yankee Doodle Dandy as much as the next guy but we are out numbered by the 47% that voted for O'Bama. Not AZ mind you - we seem to have it right. But we need to understand that there are 49 other states and they can and might impress their will uopn us. Why fan the flames. I think right now right now is not the time to sit on the fence and hope that this will go away! At the very least join the NRA and The Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association. My 2 Abes are in. I remember watching rally's back in the late 60's on TV......protesting the war.......wondering who had time to rally. My dad would have never had time to leave the ranch to go rally. Now as I have gotten older and watched rally's.......I don't have time to go to any rally either......most of the rally's I have witnessed made me wonder how those people were able to keep their jobs and have so much time to "rally". I tried to rally and cast my vote back in November........but it was not to be.................. You gotta admit when the media covers a rally.....they interview the ones that they want to either look really good or really bad depending on which side of the issue the media wants you to hear.........
