Anybody Hunt Wyoming Before Mule Deer

I have been thinking of hunting in another state DIY.... anybody hunt Wyoming?

 

Care to share a little info? I only have 1 preference point for Wyoming. Would like to go and have a safe and enjoyable hunt on public land.

pm average joe. We are heading there in oct to hunt goats and maybe muleys. He knows the region pretty well.

Wyoming deer are in rough shape. They have had a few rough winters. Rumor is that this summer was exceptionally dry, leaving the deer in poor shape going into the winter. The snow has been pretty high this year thus making things worse. Huntin Fool has suggested for a few years to gain points and wait for the herds to come back. We hunted unit 90, one of the better units, 3 years ago. Best buck we saw was a 24 inch 3 by 3.

deer population is low, drought has affected them, starting to see whitetails in areas that was only mule deer when I was a kid and very few mule deer.
