Canyon Cold

Recommended Posts

This past weekend was a cold one at the Grand Canyon as a small cold front came through Thursday night. The temperature was -9* at the canyon Saturday morning. Ice was on the outside of the sleeping bag inside the camper shell. A friend and I photographed from Hopi Point Friday evening and Lipan Point Saturday morning, hoping to catch the clearing storm. We had some scattered snow flurries and patches of light in the canyon both evening and morning.

Falling snow over the Palisades gives the morning sunlight a nice soft color. My favorite from the weekend at the ditch.

Beautiful!

To me, the winter light presents nature at its most stunning! The soft blues and pinks, together with long deep shadows makes wintertime my favorite!

Thanks for sharing your great work!
