ShutYourLib Report post Posted January 13, 2013 So, now that the bait ban has been put into place, I thought it would be interesting to list out our predictions of what the department may come up with next. I believe that we will move to an archery deer tag draw. With all of the new regulations, you need enforcement. I think that tag prices will move up. Game cameras will be considered an unfair advantage and will not be allowed over water, and eventually at all. Is it a problem that I cannot think of any positive things that may change? POB Report post Posted January 13, 2013 On the plus side, numbers of tags will go up, but sucess rates will go down until animal numbers are so low that they can justify canceling all hunting seasons. This band of commissioners has a bad agenda.

gotcoues Report post Posted January 14, 2013 AZHOUNDCRAZY..... You must be crazy, as you sit there and throw master baiters under the bus, you must know the use of dogs could easily be next. I would think a houndsman would support his fellow hunter even if it's not "his thing". I guess when dogs are next on the chopping block, everyone who isn't interested in hunting with dogs shouldn't be concerned about you losing your freedoms. On another note, why would G&F want archery to go to draw? Most archers apply for rifle tags as well. We get double dipped on deer, why would they ever give that up?
Pine Donkey Report post Posted January 14, 2013 There will be an unpressidented increase in all tags. You can see the first steps in the Unit 1 elk tags. Every unit will be stacked with hunters, much like 6A elk or 33 deer tags already are. More hunters drawn, more hunter conflict, more money for G&F and lower hunter satisfaction. All of this will be coupled with more closed roads on public land and less access to private land.
DesertBull Report post Posted January 14, 2013 Next up is dogs, you can bet on it. Kalifornia just eliminated bear hunting with dogs. We are next. I probably won't write a letter or place a phone call supporting it though. Go to Idaho if you want to use dogs. I don't see a use for using dogs to hunt bear. No they will not go to a draw for archery hunters, starting next year, we no longer have mandatory reporting for deer.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted January 14, 2013 You must be to dense to get the point. Whether or not its 'your thing' as a hunter, w all should support it because chances are, eventually, 'your thing' could be on the chopping block and I'd bet you would want the support of as many other Hunters as you could get.

firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted January 14, 2013 Who says it's the lazy way? Takes a lot of hard work to develop a salt/mineral site, scout it, maintain it, sit it 8-10 hours a day. But you're right, that's the lazy way. you, my friend are extremely ignorant.
