AZHUNTER05 Report post Posted January 9, 2013 Well my 2013 javelina season started off slow! My buddy Jim and I, hunted all my favorite spots with no luck for 5 days straight. Finally on Sunday, one of my other buddies invited us to join him in a area they had seen pigs the day prior. Sunday morning we headed out early and by about 8:00 we had pigs glassed up, and we were starting our stalk! Jim and I headed towards the pigs, while my dad guided us into them with radio's. An hour later we found our self's with in archery range, but one of the pigs had spotted us! We held still for about 20 minutes or so, before the pig lost interest and began to walk away. We moved further into the heard of pigs when i spotted one at 30 yards. It must have winded us, because he began to woof real loud and started moving down hill from us. As the pig moved down hill, she made the mistake of stopping for a second just below us, giving Jim a shot! I ranged him at 21 yards, and Jim let a gravedigger fly! The pig was hit hard and only ran 15 yards before crashing. Now it was my turn! I took 2 steps to my left, when i heard some pigs moving above us. I stopped and waited for a few minutes, when 2 pigs started making there way down hill towards us. I ranged the bushes where i heard the pigs coming from at 25 yards, and waited for a shot. Finally 2 pigs walked out of the bushes and presented me a clear shot. I drew back and Let a 100 grain swhacker fly, a perfect double lung shot! The pig ran 8 yards and crashed, leaving a massive blood trail! All in all, it was a fun hunt spending time with my Dad and buddies. Seen lots of big bucks but just couldn't close the deal on one! I was very impressed with the swhacker, I think it's going to be my new broadhead of choice. Jim's Gravedigger was pretty awesome also! Thanks for reading and good luck to everyone in the new year! (The 4th and 5th pictures are of my pig's entry and exit hole, with the swhacker. The 6th picture is the exit hole of Jim's pig with the gravedigger.)

bowhunter81 Report post Posted January 9, 2013 Plus one on the swacks, my buddy shot a pig last weekend at 50 yards right between the eyes and out the neck, compleete pass through. Blades were still Sharp in tact and ferrel was straight . Never ever seen a broadhead go through that much bone and penetrate like that especially for a mechanichal.
