goatsie Report post Posted January 8, 2013 Well I finally convinced the misses to get her CCW, but now she needs something to tote around, I was thinking magnum research, but a walther, sig or CZ .380 may be a better fit. Let me know what you have.

yotebuster Report post Posted January 8, 2013 Isn't the sig 238 a single action? Like a mini 1911? That doesn't seem like the best fit for CCW. I got my gf a S&W bodyguard, its a sweet little gun, and priced very well too.
elpepe25 Report post Posted January 8, 2013 I Purchased the S&W body guard revolver for my wife. DA revolvers are idiot proof under stress, uterly unjammable. IF it does fail to fire, pull the trigger again. Unlike autos it can be fired inside a purse/jacket pocket as well as muzzle contact if needed. It has very small diameter grips that are super comfy and allow full purchase with smaller hands. Revolvers are more proven than even the 1911, I know... I know blasphemy. However I liked hers so much I ended up getting a J-frame for myself. By far the most comforable pistol ive carried. The more comfortable it is, the more likely to carry. The more likley to carry the more likley to have it when you need it.

Lots of power with +P hydra shoks and very easy to conceal. I carry mine everywhere, and they are mindless to fire. Best part about them is the lack of maintence they need. no reason to take ammo out of mags and rotate mags so the springs do not weaken. They go bang everytime and if not just pull the trigger again and the next bullet will be in position anyway. ( would only need this if first round was a dud.) Oh yeah did I mention they are idiot proof to shoot. No matter how scared she may be at the time she would have to use it, there are no buttons or safeties to manipulate, just a trigger. What they said, but adding take her with and get her input. Shoot some, all the usual things of a new pistol. Edit to add. I need to mention that yeah I voted Revolver, but my lady and I both carry semi all the time.

azslim Report post Posted January 8, 2013 I'd look into the the .327 mag for her. I would get my wife one if she didn't already have her .357.
cactusjack Report post Posted January 8, 2013 I have a Ruger LCR 38+p that traded my Granddad for a SP101. He wanted something heavier for his night stand, he doesn't carry concealed. He was talked into it at the shop when he went in without me. He shot less then 50 rounds through it. If you are interested PM me.
Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted January 8, 2013 There is a lady close by in the Snowflake area that teaches concealed weapons course. She highly recommends that you take the course first trying out different styles of pistols and then going and buying the pistol your wife likes. She provides several different styles through the training to give her options. Her biggest thing is "Men, don't try to buy your wife a gun that you like!!!"
