kazpilot25 Report post Posted December 28, 2012 I've got a pair of the Viper HD 15x50's and love them! They're amazing. I don't have experience with the Kaibabs or Swaros so I don't have any comparison there, but I love the Vipers.

kimberx2 Report post Posted December 28, 2012 I sold 2 pairs of nikons to buy a pair of viper 15x50 non hd a couple years ago. Worst hunting mistake I ever made. Like looking through 2 sprite bottles taped together. Fuzzy and blue green. My buddy had the nikons I sold him, and I had a 10x42 zen ray both were far superior. Sold them on craigslist the minute I got home. People love them but I will never buy another pair.
nighthawk Report post Posted December 28, 2012 The 15x50hd are great. But I didn't like the non hd . Can't beat the price ,size, and weight of the viper hd!!!
bigorange Report post Posted December 29, 2012 Happy with the non-hd, but haven't had a chance to compare them to the HD or Kaibabs...

tommat Report post Posted December 29, 2012 I have had non HD's for a couple seasons......edges are not very clear.....keep 'em in my pack and use 'em like a spotting scope to double check things I glass up with my 10's which are way clearer and brighter with like 4x's the field of view. HD's were a BIG improvement. Pass up on the non HD's.
kennyazman Report post Posted January 7, 2013 How do the HD's compare to the Minox 15's??
hunthard Report post Posted January 8, 2013 since it's a 50 mm objective lens with a 15 power you're going to be discouraged when there's low light situations(the best time to glass/find an animal). I have a pair of 15x60 that do really well and I actually use 12x50 cabela euros a little more than the 15's, they're just really really clear and bright. I saw some up here for sale a few days ago with an awesome price. The euros are dang near even to me to a pair of slc swarovskis. You can even read the reviews on them. Rifle2Bow Report post Posted February 28, 2013 I took my vortex Viper HDs out for the first time and wow to say the least. Best bang for the buck for sure. I highly recommend. I saw what i believe to be my first Coues ever however I was jave hunting. The reason I think it was a Coues was because the buck had a decent 3x3 rack and maybe 100 pounds. Can someone confirm that I did see what was in fact a Coues. Highly recommend viper hds
