kazpilot25 Report post Posted December 27, 2012 So after a long search for acceptable energy ranges for different game species turned up no good results, I decided to create my own calculator based on a couple different pieces of info I found. I found a formula that calculates optimum game weight and tweaked it to give me what I consider a pretty accurate range. This calculator will give you an ethical range for which you should shoot, and will also tell you what game animals you could ethically take. Apparently we're not allowed to attach excel spreadsheets here, so below is a link to the file. Simply input your bullet weight and impact velocity, and it will give you a weight range and tell you which animals can ethically be taken. 123456 Report post Posted December 31, 2012 seems to work, but I did input 500 nitro express ballistics and it still says it is not safe to kill an elephant or Rhino. If that will not kill them, i do not know what will. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
