Very good article! I actually just officially joined the NRA yesterday. I encourage any of you that haven't to do the same. We're gonna need all the help we can get to battle the misinformation being plastered across the news by the media.

That is information we will never see reported by any liberal media. If a citizen was carrying a gun in that safeway parking lot, Jared Loughner would not be wasting taxpayer dollars rotting in prison, and lives could have been saved.

 

Gun free zones only keep honest people from carrying. The riff raff will carry anyway.

 

Can you imagine the Liberal outcry that would occur if an honest citizen gunned down a whacko in a gun free zone. Thats how twisted and backwards this country has become.

This type of information is very inconvienienent to those wanting to ban guns. They don't have the facts on their side so they will revert to labeling their opposition as radical.

Don't quote this but, I heard on the radio this morning, the man that jumped on the Giffords shooter was armed and decided with all the people around he couldn't get a clean shot. True or not he's a hero for attacking the shooter and even more so a hero for practicing good judgement and not shooting into a crowd.

After the shooting there was a man who was interviewed on the news that sounds like what you are describing. He was inside the store when he heard the shooting, ran outside with his legally carried gun. He decided that he could not safely shoot because others had grabbed the shooter. He put the gun away and assisted them.

 

This responsible gun owner has family who are members on this site I believe. I am intentionally not using his name because he mayo not want the attention or notoriety associated with the day. He was one of several who put themselves at great personal risk to stop the shooting.

Nice! I didn't know about that guy. It is good judgement to refrain when bystanders are present.

If he or family members are on this site I'm sure everyone will thank him for being responsible in his actions, I personally do, I understand why he might not want it public record, since you know him, pass the word on from me.

This same thing happened a few weeks ago in the Clakamas County Oregon Mall shooting. Unfortunetly 2 people still died. Theres a article about it, I will post when I find it. A armed citizen decided that day to conceal carry against what the signs said going into the mall and probably saved who knows how many lives because of it. The shooter saw him about to be engaged and the next shot that was heard was the one of the nut bag killing himself. Same as CT, heard the cops coming and ended it.
