the_real_oneazbowhunter Report post Posted December 12, 2012 If you draw a good tag and can't your lazy #@% out of the truck and hunt, do the rest of us all a favor and find a new hobby!
gotcoues Report post Posted December 12, 2012 The people who prefer to put in more effort and get away from the roads rely on the masses doing the opposite. Don't ruin a good thing my friend. "Road hunting" is illegal and it surprises me that lots of people don't realize it. In fact, soooo many people do it, I wish they would make it legal because it's almost impossible to prove intent anyway. Keep on trucking on road hunters! Please don't take this post too serious, all in good fun.
Guest akaspecials Report post Posted December 12, 2012 While I dislike road hunters too, be careful how quick you are to judge. One of my hunting partners has a friend who has no mobility in his legs and doesn’t have any choice but to hunt from a vehicle. The guy gets yelled at and shamed all the time for being an evil “road hunter” until people find out he can’t walk. Just a thought…
the_real_oneazbowhunter Report post Posted December 12, 2012 Well i should have been more specific because i'm not pointing any fingers at anybody disabled.More power to them for getting out there and doing it with a disability.I think you know the kind of guys i'm referring to. Just plain LAZY..
Antmo23 Report post Posted December 12, 2012 I kinda like having all the bird dogs pushing the bucks to me, lol. But I feel your pain. Nothing worse than someone ruining a shot opportunity. Ah, the beauties of public land hunting....

Shooter McGavin Report post Posted December 13, 2012 I really wish the road hunters would extract their craniums, this goes for all the bozos on the quads and rhinos as well. I can see going to get their downed animal or like mentioned prior if you have a disability but that is it, don't drive and drive and drive around all day looking for movement. The good ole man upstairs gave you a heart and legs use them for christ sake. This reminded me of our past deer hunting trip in 36B this year, the early hunt. On Sunday Oct 28 this bright orange jeep with a rack mounted to the front bumper carrying a cooler or possibly a metal diamond plated toolbox (possible willy's or cj5) starting driving down the road over looking a canyon just to the north of us. Two guys jump out of the jeep and run to the side of the canyon and start franticly scouring the hillside, one guy even starts throwing rocks into the ravine/trees to flush anything out. The one guy continues looking through his scope while the other guy runs back to the jeep. I couldn't tell what he grabbed but he came back to his buddies side. They both slowly got back into the jeep and continued on about 100'-200' and they both jumped out again and with rifles and were glassing with scopes. I am thinking to myself what a couple of boneheads. They do this for about 1/4 mile or so leaning over the jeeps hood and standing along the ravine the entire way until they eventually take a road somewhere else. I had already filled my tag but was helping a buddy try and fill his tag and couldn't believe with what I was seeing. They didn't end up shooting at anything and thank god because I think I would have done something that I would have regretted. Oh well, had to post it and gripe. goinhuntn Report post Posted December 13, 2012 I like road hunters!! They stay out of the woods so it gives me better opportunity to get away from other hunters, and see more game.
Redman Report post Posted December 13, 2012 I wonder why people complain about road hunters.... if they are road hunting...and you can see them... where are you? you must be close to a road for the road hunters to bother you.
Antmo23 Report post Posted December 13, 2012 I wonder why people complain about road hunters.... if they are road hunting...and you can see them... where are you? you must be close to a road for the road hunters to bother you. I have 15x56 ziess, I can see a lot of roads from the top of the mountain, lol. Heck, we watched some road hunters stop and glass from the bed of their truck and we were 2500 yards away. The best part was, behind them, in the same view of our glasses, was a forky WT! It had to be less that 75 yards from them, just feeding and watching them. They had no clue, we laughed our butts off at that one, lol. We tried to get a good pic but was too far, lol.
ShutYourLib Report post Posted December 13, 2012 What I can't stand is the people who sit around and pass judgement. Who are you to judge what type of hunting anyone is doing? As stated above, I'm sure that if you were on the road to get to your favorite glassing spot and saw a nice deer, you would just say oh well I did not walk the ethical number of miles so I won't go after him. What a joke. When I see other hunters on the road, I see them for a few seconds, and do not check up or in on them to see what they are up to. I simply wave to my fellow outdoorsman and continue on my way. Those road hunters paid for a tag just like you, they put a lot of money into the economy, and spent a lot of time away from their families/work to enjoy their time out doing what they like to do. Or, they may be disabled, or old, or sick, or anything. It's none of your ethical policeman business! Another thing I cant stand is men that act like babies. If everyone was walking through the hills, I bet your post would be aimed at those who dont glass, or those who are in "your" spot, or use salt, or sit water holes, or anyone who doesnt do things the way that you deem appropriate. Stop bashing your fellow sportsman!!!!
