Michigan tells Unions to back off

Recommended Posts

True brotherhood is the marine corps, not the union. Fight along someone for your life and freedom, not for another dollar.

Unions are leeches, parasites, are they doing the manufacturing, engineering or research? Or is Boeing, GE, Exxon Mobile, GM contributing to the world market and paying these peoples salary? They kill manufacturing and Jobs in this country, people like in Detroit want an aerospace engineers salary, but couldn't tell you or I the simple process in which a battery works that goes into that car their building. I guarantee all those union workers at Hostess are in high spirits when they lost their job all together and the union dies, but how could the "brotherhood" of unionism die, because when the host dies the parasite dies too.

You are no different than the other ignorant people stating facts they think they know. Why didn't you mention the millions of dollars in bonuses the Hostess upper mangement recieved just before going bankrupt. Don't start spouting crap unless you have all the facts. Why didn't you mention the last four years the union took pay cuts to help the company. When your nads drop then I'll take your opinion seriously.

Personal attacks just show how un-educated and ill- informed you are.

"Unions are Leaches, parsites," A union is an entity not a person, it's simple English really.

Like I said, until the milk dries, from around your lips and you actually have experienced life, quit spouting crap you know nothing about. Uninformed opionions are stupid opinions. The only thing you know, is what you have been told to know. By people and organizations that want you to know. I can tell by the number of posts you make that everything you know in life has probably come from TV or the internet.

I have nothing further to say, I would rather say nothing then to say something stupid and totally irrelevant.

Obama wants to make union secret ballots illegal so that the union thugs can intimidate the voters. Yeah...if the unions are so great for the average workers, why can't they have a secret ballot, like every other vote in this country conducted?

"being organized has given us a right to sit and discuss what type of equipment I wear on my back and what type of equipment I carry on my truck vs. letting my city manager and city council make the decisions for me".

Evan the "non-union" mining company environment I worked many years in offered the same privilege that you cherish, plus many more desirable privileges In other words you don't need a union to set the table for optimum success. In fact based on my work experience a union environment did more to set the table for roadblocks and inefficiencies. My comments are from working in a union environment for 13 years for Phelps Dodge Mining Company and then in a non-union environment for the same company the next 20 years after the union was decertified.

In the 1980's this was the primary reason that many mining companies (that were highly unionized) went out of business totally or were shut down because they no longer could make a profit due to the inefficiencies resulting from unionized activities. It was very predictable based on the mining company experiences that the US auto industry would meet the same fate if they didn't learn from the mining companies. Unfortunately history repeated itself with the auto industries around 2007 and many innocent auto workers lost their jobs due to union officials greed. Bottom line it takes more effort by leadership in non-union companies to keep employees happy and remain non-union.

I am the first to admit that the unions of the 1950-1960's served a very useful purpose and many of the benefits that both salaried and non-salaried workers enjoy today are the positive results from those earlier unionized efforts. Many people complain about Wall Street greed now days but from what I learned from my union and non-union work experiences union leadership in today's world is every bit as greedy as Wall Street. Unions possibly have caused more loss of jobs than the more publicized blame that Wall Street has endured. Frankly unions IMHO have outlived their usefulness in today's different world, and unfortunately subtract more value than they add .......or at one time added.

i'm at a loss here - what makes you think the ballots are not sercret - the ballot isn't signed the envolope that holds the ballot is signed and the only reason is to know who actually voted - ! thats how our union holds vote - several volunters to watch the voting and counting.

screw the obummer prick he wants to be emperor- he wants to know what everyone is doing - its not the unions fault- though i cant see why they supported the bum

I've been a union member for 32 yrs - never seen a thug- yes our union endorsed obummer but I'm an American and vote the way i wanted - same goes for any vote we've ever had at our union . I did have a union person come around for the bummer vote - passed a flyer so I'd know who was running in the party and to see if i voted .

I also had a democrat come around to see if i voted the party - i told him to pound sand - non his dang business

union has been good to me all ny life - i dont live by any extravagatnt frills - no real high dollar pay - I know lots of non union guys that have better benifts aqnd pay that i do - i know that when i go to work i give a full days work for pay just like all of you . i cant get employed if i fail a drug test - how many non union companys have mandatory drug tests for employment ?/ i sure some do! every union compoany i go to work for does and do random tests all the time to keep a drug free safe working enviromnet.

companies hire unions for their expeirince - how many companies you see offer pay by your skill - every dang one . the better your resume the better job you get the more pay

the union is my resume - they call and ask for a specific person to do a specific job - thats what they get a trained indiviual

sure theres a possability of thugs and dopers and alcohoics - in every business accross america , the majority of unions strive to be drug free-

who says union workers can't get fired -

i dont be little or talk down to someone doing the same job as myself- non union- heck if he works as hard as i do hes got just as much experience as myseLF--

operating engineers 428 - 32 yrs and proud of IT!

The Unions bosses are in it for themselves and really don't give a crap about the american worker anymore. They bought Obama to get themselves exempt from things while the rest of us have to live with it.
