Any luck in 30B?

Recommended Posts

Has any one had luck in 30B this year?

We are heading out next weekend with 2 white tail tags.

This will be my third hunt in that unit after striking out twice.

I hope we do well.

Wish us luck!

Thanks,

Dave B

My wife got a 2x2 there tis year she hunted 4 days and we saw bucks every day. Saw a nice 85 inch buck from road but she just couldnt make it happen. Even saw a 75 inch buck in the raod and that just sucked nothing we could do until it went into the thick brush.

I know this is a little late, but good for this coming year...or ANY year really. I live in 30B and have hunted it extensively for mule deer and whitetail. When you drive out to the area you want to hunt for whitetail, look for the highest, nastiest, most inaccessible place in the area, farthest from the road, and head up there, lol. That's where the deer are. If possible get up there in the dark and wait for the sun to come up, then glass and glass and glass. So many hunters in this area seem to want to stay on the road and glass from the truck, then wonder how come they aren't seeing deer, or not filling their tag every year. There are a LOT of whitetail bucks in this area, and you will NEVER see those from the road. It seems that about 90% of the hunters in this area are "road hunters", which is great news for the hunters who will actually get their legs under them and climb, and walk. The deer ARE out there. So, if you get out there in the middle of nowhere, the hawks and vultures are flying BELOW you, and you are dreading the thought of getting a buck because of the miles and miles and canyons and hills and mesquites and ocotillos you're gonna have to go through to get him back to the truck, then you're in a pretty good spot, lol :D
