10Turkeys Report post Posted December 6, 2012 Hey got a question. I work at the mine in Morenci and I've seen more Sheep here than Rabbits. The biggest one was walking across the road by the Fire Dept, he was broomed on both sides, a wall hanger for sure. Yesterday I saw one that was by himself also and he was broomed on his right side and his left was either broken off or it looked like it was knotted up on the end, I wasn't that close to him so I couldn't tell. Haven't been bitten by the Sheep bug so I don't know that much about them. Is that common for their horn to do that?
jboots Report post Posted December 6, 2012 I am no expert either but my buddy just killed his ram last week in 27. He was telling me that they get a bug, I think in their ear canal if I remember right that will make the horn on that side basically rot off.
Coues Sniper Report post Posted December 6, 2012 Yep - Sinusitus. Can eventually be fatal.
DCS Report post Posted December 6, 2012 As was stated it's sinusitus. If the sheep can break the horn, and let the infection drain, they will usually make it,but if not they will die.One horn rams are prevelant up in the Kingman units.
