jboots Report post Posted December 4, 2012 I have a barely used Kimber Montana 300WSM for sale. I broke this in with 1/5, 5/5, & 10/5 (Rounds fired per cleaning/cycles completed). After that I maybe have shot 10 rounds through it. It has a Leupold VX II 3x9x40mm on it, 40 unprimed new brass, 22 fired brass, 28 rounds of reloaded Barnes Triple Shock hollow points, 10 rounds of reloaded Sierra Boat Tails and a set of RCBS dies that I bought new with this gun. Asking $1200.
PRDATR Report post Posted December 4, 2012 Do you have any targets to show how it grouped?
jboots Report post Posted December 4, 2012 PRDATR, I don't have any. I didn't figure anyone would believe them anyway and would want to shoot it for themselves. As stated, I really did not get past the break-in stage so I don't have the time put in it to be able to show what it can do. I can say it is a very nice rifle and if I had not found a really expensive toy that I ordered and have to pay for then I would not be getting rid of it. dtower Report post Posted December 4, 2012 Justin try posting it on backpage.com there are lots of guns for sale there under sports/equipment DT
jboots Report post Posted December 4, 2012 Hunter4Life, that is a possibility as a couple of guys have asked about just the gun but for now I prefer to keep it as a package because if the gun does not sell then I don't want to have to go buy another set of dies. I will keep you in mind if I split it up. Thanks Danny, I will give that a try as well.

wilderness1 Report post Posted December 5, 2012 Great rifle here. If someone buys this rifle have it bedded and make sure the gunsmith has it free floated after the fact. I have had a few of these rifles and got them all to shoot 1/2 inch with several different loads. When I started with Montana's I trusted their bedding and floating, big mistake cause they use a slave action for stock molds so every different gun has a different stock and action but the same slave action was used which is its own element of fit. My personal friend and hunting partner has set up over 20 Montanas in this 300 wsm and his knowlege of these are tried and true. Just trying to help out a fellow member here and fellow member who buys so that both parties are happy cause they are better rifles than the rap they get from few. You can re crown, lap the barrel and lugs, cryo the barrel etc... but it wont help at all unless the first 2 things I specified are done first. Do those 2 things and shoot it, save the money on the rest of the processes mentioned cause it might regress the rifles potential instead of enhancing it. Also I have seen these guns shoot horrible off the bench unless you are holding it down. It tightens up the harmonics of the rifle cause it is so light. Really only in the larger calibers like this one is needed. Had a Montana 300 WSM shoot 1/2 inch group after group with my left hand over the front top part of the scope and when I shot it without this method more like benchrest style it opened up to 1 1/2 groups with the same proven load. I really appreciate the knowlege of the members who do know what they are talking about here on this site and I encourage beginning hunters, reloaders, etc to ask questions on this site cause the knowlege will only help and make safer cleaner kill shots as we stretch it out there. Its only unethical if you think you know it all. I like learning from you all and enjoy the reading. Good luck out there.
