out2hunt Report post Posted August 14, 2006 Just got back from 6b and had a blast with my six year old.We saw a gig black bear through my lieca spotting scope. He was about 950 yards and all the way on the other side of a nasty canyon.I will post pics of my son calling to him and trying to get him in range.Seriously one of the funner hunts I can remember, probably due to my son's first hunt and all the off the wall comments.also saw well over 40 elk,21 deer, and about thirty turkey. coues7 Report post Posted August 14, 2006 Can't wait for your pics out2hunt! That's great you took your 6 year old out. I took my 4 year old scouting for bear and all she wanted to do when we were glassing was wrestle and climb on me.....we didn't get much scouting done but had a blast. We even had a picnic at a hidden trough that had some grapes on it and that's what she remembers most....so AWESOME.
out2hunt Report post Posted August 15, 2006 My boy is the one in the middle of the three and there are some photos of camp and one of the canyons I let my son try calling.I told him it would probably take thirty minutes to get a bear to show himself and he didn't stop blown!!!I mean he blew for thirty minutes and didn't complain once.He should be ready for varmits by the time he turns eight.Hope you enjoy!!!I sure did!!!!
