archerycrazy Report post Posted November 27, 2012 This morning, I was pleased to read that the Senate was poised to approve this long awaited bill. I was confident that it would pass easily and be signed by Obama. Now I am disgusted that Senator Joe Sessions ® LA took action to block the bill, based on the cost of conservation provisions in the bill. As sporstmen you and I pay for the cost of nearly all conservation efforts trough Pittman/Robetson and Dingell/Johnson. If Kyl or McCain are involved in this there will be heck to pay. audsley Report post Posted November 27, 2012 I knew this would happen. It got caught up in the political chess game over the "fiscal cliff." It will be very hard to get any money for things we like in the next couple of years or longer. Sessions stopped it based on an objection that it violated the Budget Control Act. This bill had bi-partisan support. McCain had voted for it earlier. Kyl had voted against it. I don't know what Kyl's reasons were, but I think he had wanted to insert something else into the bill. Either way, we didn't get it. I doubt that will change. The Dems tried to persuade the Republicans to waive the procedural violation of the Budget Control Act, but the Republicans are making them toe the line. It's gonna get ugly.
