EXODUS Report post Posted November 26, 2012 Well the pup decide to either try to make friends with the pigs or fight one of them "didnt actually get to see it" he comes home limping on his front leg and bleading from his throat. Take a quick look and see the pig ripped him open next to his wind pipe and in betweeen his jugular vein. Load the pup in the truck and head for globe to get him fixed up. 240$ dollars later headed back to to roosevelt to enjoy the rest of the weekend with the family. Maybe next time he see's or smells one of them he will think twice about it
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted November 26, 2012 Wow, glad he got fixed up and the $240 actually sounds pretty reasonable for emergency work like that. Did you go to Dr. Eubanks? that's who we use and he is great.
Hunterjohnny Report post Posted November 26, 2012 You actually got lucky, dogs have been torn up really bad from those encounters. And the vet bill doesnt seem bad.

savagman Report post Posted November 26, 2012 Glad your pup is ok. Got into pigs on Thanksgiving morning and was thankful that we came away without getting cut up. My dogs had this one bayed up in a cave. Couldn't see what was in there so I crawled in a bit and took some pictures. Glad he decided to stay put...
muleskinner Report post Posted November 27, 2012 You're very fortunate! I had an older hound and a young pup that ran a javelina into an old mine shaft one night while coon hunting. Took over 100 stitches to put the pup back together. Totally broke the old dog from messing with em. After that, if he smelled a javelina, he would beat it back to me and stick his head between my knees and look in the direction of the pig. Glad to see your little guy survived!
