Rembrant Report post Posted August 4, 2006 Anyone notice that all the evidence of deer, as of late, from unit 23 is in the form of skulls? It's a sad, sad affair I tell ya. Mike
Red Rabbit Report post Posted August 4, 2006 judging from the bleached and chewed condition of the skull, would have to say that it's been a few years since there were deer roaming the hills of 23. Eyeguards-too funny RR

Dan H Report post Posted August 5, 2006 Heres another from unit 23 found within 1/4 mile from the muley. Both were within 1/8 of a permanent water source. Obvious lion kills. Like Rembrant said "sad". Same one. Dan

Dan H Report post Posted August 6, 2006 Thats a good point DTB17, the muley may have kept his genes in the area. We stalked a monster 2 pt and 3 pt'r in Jan pig hunting on the same hill the skull was on. But never got a shot. I plan on trying that spot again this year. The deer and pigs were bedding down within 30 yds of the skull. Thats how I found it.
