Some neat things down in the 36's..

Recommended Posts

I thought I would share just a few pics with you guys that I have taken over the last few weeks while out in the southern units.. Sorry about the quality.. They were just taken with a quick point and click camera..

A few weeks ago, we were out checking some things out way up in the hills down near the border area and we stumbled into this area of really round rocks on the VERY top of a high ridgeline that were covered in Native American pictographs.. You can see all types of animal and human shapes on the face of the main rock.. Very cool to see. Any guesses on where this was taken?? I'll give you the first hint.. in was in 36B. :P

And the other day, we stumbled into this guy while we were checking out some country on the west side.. And he was a pretty big one at that! I always seem to find them during the monsoon season. I always think of it as a real treat to see these guys whenever I'm out in the desert. Such cool critters.

Holy smokes !!! Scottyboy that is some petroglyph collection. I recognized the last pic, but the round rocks I have no idea where that is. That is one nice looking Gila, was he aggressive? What time of the day was it? BTW, did ya know that in Az it is illegal to handle Gila monsters? Thanx fer sharing. Stay safe out there.

I'm guessing it's the southern portion of 36B and you're nuts for picking that thing up!

I'd guess the picture was taken sometime around noon and toward the south. Maybe in 36c.

How did this thread come up twice. Looks like it was duplicated a few minutes apart when ScottyBoy posted it. Thought I was going crazy, again :P

Deerslam, I have no idea how this thread came up twice! beats me..

As far as where the rock is, I had someone guess the exact place by name in a PM really quick..

It is in "B", near the southern end. A couple of guys on here have the right area and I'm betting they could find it if need be. You guys know your desert!!

We'll see ya'll out there!!
