matthewp45 Report post Posted November 14, 2012 My uncle just got back from his San Carlos November hunt in unit D (not sure which side). It was his first Coues deer hunt and when they came upon this very unusually tall number 12 or a fork and a knife buck still in velvet he had to take it. He made a great shot and got a beautiful first Coues deer and I am sure there will be plenty more of them to go along with it. Congrats on a nice buck! Pine Donkey Report post Posted November 14, 2012 Very cool looking buck. Any idea if it was young or old?
azslim Report post Posted November 14, 2012 it was an young buck with good genes, a 105ish and 90ish gave us the slip, guess aliens beamed them up because I couldn't find them when I came up from the other side. Pretty tough country and your Uncle decided the young buck would be just fine, his ankle was causing him agony. Bob Stevens of Apache Outdoors was the Outfitter/Guide, I came along as a glasser and pack mule. Some trophy's in that country, but you are going to earn them.
