COUESAZ Report post Posted August 3, 2006 I am just finishing a cabin i was plumbing in Heber. I was on my way home at around 5:00 pm. I saw 25 Elk, One nice Bull. I saw atleast 50 head of Deer. And one Old Black bear. I got within 30 yards of the bear. The reason i think it was old is i think it was almost blind. I huffed at it and it stood straight up and looked around. I was wearing a white shirt so i thought it could see me. it just stood there looking around for what was making the noise. It scrached it chest with a paw and then got back down on all fours and just walked further down the canyon.
COOSEFAN Report post Posted August 3, 2006 That would make for a GREAT day! You know....the only reason you saw all that is because you didn't have a camera with you! That's the way it almost always happens for me at least! JIM>

missedagain Report post Posted August 3, 2006 If there is 50 deer left up there it sounds like the g&f needs to create more "hunter opportunity"
COUESAZ Report post Posted August 3, 2006 I ate at junes last time i was up there, But this time i had no time to stop i wanted to be headed back before the sun went down so i could see some wildlife. The cabin is by the turn off to the fire dept. You just wind way around back in there to it. I am done and now it is pay off time. I can't wait to have that fat check in my hand.
