If there are deer there are lions. It is hard to find cat sighn unless you are in soft dirt or a wash. And if it is in a wash they will travle the very edge so they can hide fast for ambush.

I will second the lion kill by the nose being gone like that. They bite the nose and it will sufacate or drown the deer in its own blood that way.

This was my first time scoring a whitetail, so I hope I did it right. Based on the Boone and Crockett website it would score 79 5/8's. These were just quick measurements, but should be fairly close. I certainly hope there is a lion in the area so I can call him in when I try calling a bear. David

Hey David, Are you sure you added in the 4th mass measurement? Even if it was a two point, you still get all the mass measurements out to the tip of the beams. I just think it looks bigger than that, and if you didn't add the 4th mass measurement, it would make sense to me, otherwise, I WAY over scored it! Doesn't really matter though, it's still a great find! I also say it looks to be a lion kill and would say he goes 87"-89" cool looking buck!!

Jimmy, I did not add the mass measurement out to the tip, so he is probably in the high eighties.

Bass, I found him in 23. I hunted bear in here two years ago and saw a bow killed coues come out of the area within 100 yards of where I found this one that scored over 100 inches. That was the second one the guy had killed over 100 in the same spot. I will be bow hunting in there on the 1st. David

Awesome...........I'm glad you missed that measurement, I just got some of my confidence back! Now knowing he still gets two more mass measurements, I was only off probably 2 inches instead of 7! Looks like hunt4horns was probably the closest guess! Thanks, JIM>
